The LORD is Greater Than All gods

1. God’s people delight in exalting Him as their Deliverer (verses 8-9).

TWO QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION ON THIS POINT:

1) Have you—through Jesus Christ—been delivered from God’s wrath and into His family?

2) If we—through Jesus Christ—have been delivered from God’s wrath, do we delight in exalting Him as our Deliverer?

2. God, as Deliverer, is shown to be infinitely greater than all would-be challengers or competitors (verses 10-11).

TWO QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION ON THIS POINT:

1) Have you—like Jethro—come to understand that God is infinitely greater than all would-be challengers or competitors?

2) If we answered “yes” to the first question, then is the infinite greatness of God being reflected in our lives?

3. As God is exalted as Deliverer and shown to be infinitely greater than all would-be challengers and competitors, then other sinners will also be delivered—in a never-ending mission of deliverance until Christ returns (verses 11-12).

TWO QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION ON THIS POINT:

1) Have you, through Jesus Christ, been delivered from your slavery to sin and from God’s wrath and judgment?

2) If you answered “yes” to the first question, then is your life a life lived on mission for your Deliverer?
