Suffered Under Pontius Pilate, Crucified, Died, Buried, Descended into Hell

- First, when people die, their soul and body are separated, with the body remaining, and the soul entering into eternity.

- Second, when believers die, they are immediately ushered into the presence of God.

- Third, when unbelievers die, they are immediately ushered into eternal punishment.

- Fourth, when Jesus returns, the souls and bodies of those who have died are reunited and they join the living to be ushered into eternity.

3. Jesus experienced the reality of divine wrath.

Application:

1. Because Jesus was perfected through suffering, we can trust that he will use our suffering for our good.

2. Because Jesus died, we do not have to fear eternity.

3. Because Jesus experienced God's wrath, we can trust that we have been set free.
